Updating your blog

Ok,
1. I've been stuck in bed for 3 months
2. I am learning how to set up my blog page.....self-taught is a slow process
3. I have little energy

These are the three excuses for not posting more blogs lately. For those of you who have a blog and are trying to make it look pretty by messing with your Layout's HTML settings here is a 7 day tutorial that does not use computer geek's language which should help you understand more of your page.
www.htmlgoodies.com/primers/html/article.php/3478141#beginning
You do have to read and I suggest actually doing the instructions as you read them! Take it slow and it should help. It has helped me tremendously as you will see my blog transforming from a template to a personalized space! I will be posting again just not frequently until I have mastered personalizing my blog then I will share my findings.

Recreational Variety

All of us have a memory of a good time. Whether it was with family, visiting an awe-inspiring place, or creating memories with friends......whatever we did consisted of a recreational activity. The problem comes when we're at home bored and have no clue what is available in our surrounding community. Here are a few tips in obtaining a recreational variety to choose from.
1 Go outside!
Ok, this sounds like a no brainer, but in all probability you have not discovered all the secrets of just being outdoors.
Gardening - don't have flowers? don't have tools? begin making a space for those shrubs....it passes the time away
Bird watching - sometimes just sitting still outside will help you discover many things. There is more than one kind of bird hopping around on the grass. Make a game out of it. See how many birds you can find in a day and see how many different ones you can discover the next day.
Bark - no, not literal barking, there are many kinds of trees outside your front door, look at their bark see what makes them unique from a different tree, discover the grain of the wood.
Wind - discover how the wind changes the lay of the land, what affects it has on the animals around.
Animals - observe how lizards, ants, rabbits, grasshoppers, etc adapt to their environment with the body they were given.
These are just a few ideas for being outside, the list can easily grow from being on the sidelines to actually being active in the outdoors.
2 Stay Inside!
Yup, I just said the opposite. Hey, somedays require sunscreen and sweat and if you aren't too keen on such feelings then there are many ways to amuse yourself indoors besides the nintendo, x-box, wii, playstation, and blue ray amusements.
Invent - yup exactly what I said, invent! pretend the only item you have in your house is paper and discover how you can make a broom, a purse, a box, a toy out of paper....this requires imagination obviously....so take your time.
Clean - think I just hit a dead wall? well the idea of cleaning is to have fun. Maybe it's that piece of furniture you don't want to throw out but it looks hideous. Clean it and press on to inventing a new use for it. Maybe it's that cluttered office....if you like basketball make a hoop out of the wastebasket hang it high and try to make great shots with your paper that needs to go in the trash! It doesn't hurt to be a kids in a grown up body as far as cleaning goes!

OK, for those waiting for a list of places or "real" things to do here it is!

New at Being a Military Wife

Those women out there who thought it was romantic to marry a military man and never lived around the military lifestyle, a great book to have in your home is Heroes At Home by Ellie Kay. It not only includes motivational stories of Military wives and their experiences of military life but also provides many resources from understanding the Acronyms that your husband throws out there in conversation to taking advantage of all the resources your military base provides free for you, but just forgot to mention.

Job search Resource

For those of us affected by the economy's changing job market here are a few sites to keep on your favorites when searching for a job!

Looking for a job near your home, not wanting to move: a great resource that searches for jobs in your area at the click of a button is: jobs.careerarrow.us

For those not restricted by how close to home they need to be and are more comfortable searching for jobs themselves: classifieds.com and charlotte.craigslist.org are beneficial resources.

People who prefer mutual interest by not only searching for a job but also being searched for by the employer should add monster.com and availablejobs.com to their
favorites. Here you not only search for available jobs but also employers can look at your online resume and offer you a job.
Those interested in career ehancing jobs which help climb the coorporate ladder in different jobs should look into adding psjobs.com to their favorites. These
are only a few suggestions when searching for available jobs. Additional information is appreciated. Further information or suggestions on improving this blog can be sent to sadiemcnoodle@yahoo.com
